Lisa Nandy MP opens the door to a new housing scheme in Wigan

Lisa Nandy, MP for Wigan officially launched a new £4m housing development aimed at first time buyers and residents in the town. The Nestings, a site in Pemberton, consists of 10 two and three bedroomed homes to purchase through shared ownership from us. There are also 23 houses available for rent from Great Places. We support the National Housing Federation’s ambition to work towards building 120,000 homes a year. We have named two friends from Tameside as Greater Manchester’s nicest neighbours. After a three-month search we crowned Pamela Howard from Ashton-under-Lyne as the city’s kindest neighbour because of her commitment to helping her friend Jean Tavener. Pamela has helped Jean everyday since she had a serious operation in hospital. She dresses her, takes her out for trips into town, collects her shopping and cooks her meals. Plumlife sells Sheffield Housing Company’s first shared ownership homes

Plumlife has been tasked with selling the first collection of shared ownership houses build by Sheffield Housing Company (SHC), a joint venture between Sheffield City Council, Keepmoat and Great Places Housing Group. The 12 two-, three- and four-bedroomed homes were built by Keepmoat at the Brearley Forge development in Parson Cross. SHC has a 15-year plan to build 2,300 new homes, ranging from two – six bedroomed houses, across seven of the city’s suburbs. Twenty-year-old Sophie Wilcock and her boyfriend Jamie Quinlan, aged twenty one, recently bought a three-bedroom home at Leesbrook View in Lees, Oldham.
